Another year for Canada, another flat for me

It really seems I can’t settle properly in this city as I wish. It’s been less than 2 months since I moved in my flat at the 30th floor and I am about to move again.

Let’s be honest: the view is fantastic, but my wallet seems to disagree with my eyes.
Vancouver is expensive and we already know that, my salary is not the one of a general manager (and you might have not known that but it is a sort of expected thing for a newcomer); hence my decision to please less my eyes with the view on the skyscrapers and more my bank account, moving to a cheaper place, but still in downtown.

As a coincidence, my move will happen on the 1st July, and this is going to create me problems, as it is Canada Day, the day of the year where Canadians try to affirm solemnly their identity, their being part of the maple leaf country. This is also why I have decided to turn temporarily red my blog, to live the spirit of my first Canada Day.
No matter how long I will take to clean my new room and place my stuff, I wanna hang around with some friends and take pictures to the city, the people and the events.
I still have to find what’s worthy a look (they say fireworks are very good) but I’ve just ferreted out this useful link making a search on the big G.

Finally, there will be also the Euro 2012 final. I confess I’m not usually involved in sport events, but when the Italian national team plays I follow the matches, swear and shout like supporters are supposed to do.
I don’t know if Italy will play the final (Germany will be a tough team to deal with), but if it will, well, my agenda on 1st July will be just full, and I hope to have the chance to wave an Italian flag like the unforgettable night I spent in Dublin on 9th July 2006.

Happy birthday Canada and come on Italy, make my celebrate twice!
